How it runs with AI
The AI reads every application as it arrives and checks it against the criteria the hiring manager set for the role: qualification, experience, skills and work location. It records the result and the reason against each candidate in Darwinbox, and sends unclear CVs to a recruiter. The hiring manager reviews a ranked shortlist and decides who to interview.
How it is done today
Applications for one role arrive through the careers page, job boards and staff referrals, often hundreds of them. A recruiter opens each CV, reads it against the job description and notes the good ones in Excel. Strong candidates wait days for a reply, and the hiring manager receives a list of names to judge from scratch.

What the screen looks at
The hiring manager sets the criteria for each role before screening starts, such as the qualification, experience, skills and work location the role needs. The AI checks each CV against those points only. Photos, age, gender, religion and caste are left out of the check, and the shortlist shows candidate IDs, so the first review rests on the reasons.

The same flow works with the apps you use.
This fits you if
- Your open roles draw more than 100 applications each
- Applications come in through your careers page, job boards and staff referrals
- Recruiters track screening in Excel alongside Darwinbox
- You hire for similar roles across several plants or offices
What to watch for
- The hiring manager decides who is interviewed and who is hired. The AI recommends and shows its reasons
- The criteria for each role are agreed before screening starts and cover job-relevant points only: qualifications, experience, skills, certifications and work location
- A recruiter reads a sample of the CVs that missed the shortlist every week, to check the screen is fair and the criteria still fit
- A recruiter confirms every regret email before it goes to the candidate
- Your careers page tells applicants that AI helps screen applications
